  • Regional Directors: This role emphasizes building local networks, engaging communities, and mobilizing resources to safeguard vulnerable children, offering them hope, protection and a pathway to restoration. By aligning regional efforts with the broader mission, the Regional Director plays a pivotal role in creating life-changing outcomes for the most at-risk populations in geographic specific area. The Regional Director will work with all members of Leadership Team.

    Director of Development & Fundraising: In this role, you will lead efforts to secure financial resources by developing fundraising strategies, building donor relationships, writing grants and organizing impactful campaigns. Your work will directly support our mission to bring safety, hope and care to vulnerable children. This position is ideal for someone with a heart for service, strong communication skills and experience in development or fundraising. The Director of Development & Fundraising will work directly with STM Fundraising Team volunteers.

    Director of Communications & Marketing: In this role, you will develop and oversee communication strategies to amplify our ministry, manage public relations efforts and create compelling content for various print and social media. Your will assist with crafting impactful messages, engaging audiences, building brand awareness, and driving online and offline campaigns. This role is perfect for someone with strong storytelling skills, marketing expertise and a heart for making a difference. The Director of Communications & Marketing will work directly with STM Social Media Team volunteers.

    Director of Search & Rescue: We are seeking a committed and compassionate volunteer with law enforcement or military background. In this role, you will lead and coordinate search and rescue operations, working closely with our Leadership Team and, when necessary, partner with local, state, and national law enforcement agencies. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep dedication to protecting vulnerable children. The Director of Search & Rescue will work directly with STM Search & Rescue volunteers.

    Director of Child Protective Services & Foster Care Advocate: In this role, you will advocate for the safety, well-being, and placement of rescued children, working closely with local, state and national child protective services and foster care systems including the government agency, ORR. This individual should have professional experience in child welfare, legal systems and trauma-informed care. Further, this volunteer Director will assist directly in coordinating care plans, facilitating communication with child welfare agencies, and ensuring children receive the protection and support they need. The Director of Child Protective Services/Foster Care Advocate will work directly with STM Child Protective Services/Foster Care Advocates.

    • Research potential donors and funding opportunities, develop outreach strategies and organize fundraising events.

    • Engage with donors, stakeholders and the community to build relationships, secure funding and track donations progress towards fundraising goals.

    • Assist in outreach efforts to recruit and train volunteers

    • Participate in community events to build awareness of Starfish Thrower Ministry.

    • Establish accounts on all social media platforms for public awareness and engagement that encourage “see something, say something” through the STM Tip Line.

    • Research news and trends, crafting compelling posts, and creating multimedia content such as graphics, videos, and infographics that educate and encourage public participation.

    • Schedule and post regular updates on social media, responding to comments and messages in a timely manner, and monitoring social media trends to keep your audience informed and engaged.

    • Develop plan and coordinate distribution of Tip Line cards.

    • Assist with internet searches and participate in ground searches sometimes working with and assisting local, state or national law enforcement including the government agency, EOR.

    • Assist with logistics, planning, and execution of rescue efforts.

    • Assist with the setup and management of operations centers

    • Analyze data from various sources to identify patterns or hotspots where children may be at risk.

    • Utilize skills in technology, such as GIS mapping or drone operations, to locate missing children.

    • Coordinate transportation, supplies, and resources needed for rescue missions

    • Using radios or other communication tools to coordinate with other team members and emergency services. Documenting findings and progress during missions for debriefing and follow-up.

    • Assist with security for rescue teams operating in potentially dangerous areas.

    • Assist with developing and implementing written safety protocols for field operations.

    • Help interview TIP Line witnesses.

    • Provide support during rescue missions to assess immediate child protection needs

    • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention for children immediately after rescue.

    • Ability to recognize signs of trauma in rescued children.

    • Assist in developing Starfish Thrower protocols for the ministerial care and mental health care of rescued children.

    • Liaison with US Office of Refugee and Resettlement (“ORR”).

    • Support efforts with ORR to reunify children with their families or place them in safe care settings.

    • Work with nonprofits to develop plans for temporary or long-term care for rescued children.

    • Assist in navigating legal and bureaucratic hurdles to ensure children’s rights are protected.
